I just finished Mobbed by Carol Higgins Clark. I had never read any of her novels, but I have always read her mom's books, so I thought "why not."
Boy, was it a disappointment! the characters were shallow, beyond unbelievable, the plot was, well, was there even a plot? I felt it insulted my intelligence. I know, I could have put it down, but I kept thinking it would get better. It didn't. The only redeeming thing about Mobbed was the setting on the Jersey Shore. (It sound like a wonderful place to vacation.)
I wouldn't even give this novel one half star. And, sorry Carol, but I was so disappointed that I will bypass your works on my library's shelves.
Peace,
JE
*I realize this is only my opinion, but as an avid reader, I felt I could share said opinion with you all. I'm sorry if I offed someone.

What we like to read is extremely subjective...however, I'm not sure that just because you didn't like it doesn't give you the right to have "offed" anyone!! LOL!!!! A little proof reading is a good thing!!
:)
I trust your judgement. I too like her mom's books.
I guess she missed the gene.
Mellodee: Thus the disclaimer at the end of my blog!
Jimmie, reading is so subjective I agree and I've started so many books that others raved about, including critics, only to put them down after only a single chapter. There's no need to apologize for your comments or opinions. It's always up to readers to decide their likes/dislikes. One reason I enjoy the library so much cause there's always another choice without spending $. As a native NJ-ite just wondering about the locale for Mobbed.
BPB: Quitting a book just because I didn't like it has always been a little quirk of mine. I finally have reached a point where I can give myself permission to stop one and put it back on the shelf.
I think maybe this stems from years of "insisting" that my students finish an assigned novel. They always wanted to know if "this book is also a movie." LOL!
Sweetie, I was just poking you a bit because you typed "offed", instead of "offend"! I thought it made for a funny comment.
I'm always doing this kind of thing. I say something I think is hysterical and nobody else gets the joke. Sigh....
