Thought-Filled Thursday

"For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness. "
Reba McEntire

Note: If you have read my blog for a while, you know how I feel about Reba. What she says here reflects my inner feeling exactly.

Reba is here in Bozeman today. She'll be performing tonight with the band Perry at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at Montana State University.

Terry, you surely are going! She was here last two weeks ago, but tickets were too spendy for me. I also missed her when she opened the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington (not Dallas by the way) when I was there visiting my brother. And she was only 15 minutes away! Tickets started at $125.00 clear up in the "nose bleed" section! NOT! But someday...

What she says is true about sad songs. Many times over my life (mostly in my "youth") I could be found listening and singing to sad songs crying my eyes out over some heartbreak or another. It does surely help! Songwriters have an important talent...expressing common emotions through moving words and haunting melodies. Those songs have gotten me over many a hump!

(I like Reba too!)

Mel: Sometime when you have time check out You tube and find Reba singing "If I Had Only Known." It says so much!
