Winter came early to our neck of the woods.

Yesterday, what started out as rain, and I mean "ark building weather" ended with winter arriving in my neck of the woods. About 2:30 pm, I looked out the window and it was snowing great, big wet flakes. This kept up the rest of the day and was still snowing and blowing at 11:00 pm when I turned off my light to go to bed.
I awoke to about 5 inches of snow this morning and a two-hour school delay. The plows had gone and the streets were clear. The wind had laid and the sun was shining.
It seems like winter came early this year. But it is beautiful out there. Especially since I really don't have to go out in it unless I really want to. And I don't want to.
It does put me in the holiday spirit, though. That's a good thing!

Peace,

JE

Snow is lovely in pictures when I am sitting in my warm and toasty house and don't have to ever go out it in! I miss many things about living in Chicago. Snow is NOT one of them. Austin does snow just right. It only snows about every other year. The accumulation is never more than two or three inches and it melts by the next day! What Austin doesn't do too well is ice! When the roads are icy, the city just shuts down....and it's a good thing!! Texans do not n=know how to drive on ice. Trust me on this!

Stay warm and safe....do your Christmas shopping online! LOL!

Can't really tell in your pictures but it looks like we have more here that you do in town. I should send you a picture. Hubby said the road were clear when he got home.

Curley: You probably do. It started snowing south of town before it changed over to snow here in town. I took Grandson 1 to his dad's and it was snowing there, and that's about 3 miles south of town, but was still raining here. That was before 1:00 pm. Really didn't start in snowing here until about 2 pm.
Mel: That's what my brother likes about the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, too. They get snow, but it's gone before noon! I like it as long as I don't have to get out in it so much like I did when I was working.
Can we ever be happy and settled with the weather? Probably not. I imagine where ever we would choose to live, there would be something wrong with the weather! (Except maybe...Hawaii!)
